Facetime

I absolutely love Face Time. As a college student, I love having the ability to Face Time my parents without having to log into a separate video chat account on my computer or phone. It is a genius technology to have the option to switch from audio call to video call with a simple press of a button. The front facing screen camera size is just right, and more often than not the calls go perfectly.

As usual when it comes to these kind of softwares, lags does happen. Not often, but it does happen. The system can slow down and freeze from time to time but it usually works just fine. FaceTime is only available in the Apple OS family of products and not available on Windows or PC's too.

Test it out and see if it works for you. With most people I've had great connections, with some it was shaky and freezing on occasion. It comes with the iPhone, is free, accessible on both desktop, laptop and handheld devices. Great for both personal and business use. A reliable software that's worth recommending.
