Eclipse

It is a great IDE that provides informative bug support while also having a very clean and nice looking GUI. It also has many plug-ins that allow for more variety in your programming. For example, an android plug-in to allow mobile development and the likes. I also love its file management. It is easy to use and allows for great customization..

I dislike how eclipse handles configurations. Its nice that you can access everything via GUI but dumb in how you need to look it up and FIND out how to change and configure it. I do this way more often than in other editors and this is sometimes this is what bugs me the most about Eclipse.

I would suggest they strongly give it a try. I usually recommend Eclipse to friends who want to get started in software development. Eclipse was recommended by my university professors when I was first introduced to software engineering and I've never looked back! This program knocks other java IDEs out of the water. I heavily recommend it.
