ECi M1

The only good thing I can say about this software is a general comment about all software is the software is only as good as the information entered and the setup

urrently working with ECi M1. It's been a nightmare. We've had this software for a year and we're still struggling to get it to work, even with the ECi staff's support. The main problem is that it's not user friendly, nor is it easily configurable. I'm constantly hearing conversations on how to work around the M1 system in order to record the correct information. Support is useless...absolutely no help! DO NOT GET THIS SOFTWARE!!

We still have a lot of problems getting the system to work how we need it to. For example; we required an equipment database for tracking, maintence, compliency, PAT testing etc. I put these requirements to ECi a year ago and my company requested this on purchase, over 2 years ago. We were then asked to submit the equiry in various forms (excel examples, descriptions in word) to illustrate what we want. 6 months ago we were told that a equipment database solution was being worked on and we would receive this. As of yet, no update. We are now going to use the e-mail database feature since it's user friendly, able to be configured without the vendors help, send out notices/alerts and capable of presenting the information in a user configurable UI. Over the past week we've made more progress with this than the M1 system in over 2yrs. The real shame is that this (e-mail db) is not a unified system with accounting capabities, but we'll live with this just to have ANY working system. This is not the only problem but it is typical of our experience with M1. It is not user friendly. It does not readly reconfigure. It does not easily tie into existing systems. The general feeling here is that we are only sticking with this system due to our investment (time, money & effort). Personally, I'd like to dump this system and start from scratch with a more intuitive ERP.
