Duolingo

Duolingo is a wonderful tool to learn new languages and improve the communication. It is very easy to pick up and the learning methods are interesting and also a fun. The approach is to use basic words which are communicated in the normal daily life and the range of exercises at the end are thought simulating. I especially liked the user interface and the aesthetics.It is not only used on desktop applications but can be also used on mobile apps.

I honestly feel Duolingo would do very well to include languages outside of Europe and Americas.There is a minor difference in learning the text from the website and the Android app as they do not have the same performance. The voice recognition is also a cause of concern on the app. The response features are also not standard and it would be great to have the caching process for a particular lesson when it is not complete so as to save time. The system is not robust and is prone to frequent crashes which require uploading again consuming significant amount of time. I also found that the navigation among the modules quite complex.

If your objective is to learn a new language pretty quickly - then, Duolingo is the right choice. It does not have features of great sentence structure and detailed explanations of grammar but you can easily use the learning to communicate in daily life. I chat with portugese people frequently and can figure out most of the things they converse even though i dont know every word. Duolingo makes it possible to understand the target language quickly!
