Docmosis

The template editor... Docmosis is like JasperReports but instead of having to use iReport to make a template, you can use Microsoft Word or LibreOffice to generate the templates. This means that our customers can modify the templates themselves. Generating templates is just the fastest thing in the world. Using a program you already know (Word/LibreOffice) means one can generate tables, paragraphs, page breaks, repeating sections, background images, embedded images, paragraph indentation, fonts or anything else one normally does.

There is a lot to download / install /configure to get it working. But their support team is pretty switched on an responsive so they help you work through it all. You do need to be a software developer or have a dev team to integrate it and get it working. It's not just a stand alone reporting tool. It's designed to be built in to another software application.

The customer service is amazing... imagine the organization you work for has decided to adopt a new developer library/product and you need to open a support ticket: you probably aren't expecting much. Well now imagine that the person replying to the ticket is a hands on developer who knows the docmosis codebase inside out, understands the issue in question at first glance and replies to you that same day... oh and if a bug is found, provides you with a patch within 48 hours. Well that's what we experienced!
