Overview

In this webinar the presenter will review the known and anticipated 2019 MIPS requirements for 2019 at a detailed level. It will also address how the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 will impact planning and performance in the MIPS in 2019. Discussion will be on the best practices for performance in each of the 4 MIPS performance categories at a granular level, including quality measure selection, implementation and performance tracking, strategies designed to obtain 100% scores on the Promoting Interoperability (formerly Advancing Clinical Information) and Improvement Activity categories, and optimizing performance in the Cost category of MIPS.

Why Should You Attend:

Based on current trends over 600,000 clinicians in the U.S. will be included in the MIPS in 2019. MIPS Performance Scores in 2019 will be used by CMS to determine potential payment adjustments to all Part B Medicare payments in the 2021 calendar year that will range from -7% to +7% or higher. CMS will also make MIPS performance scores available to the public.

The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 contained several legislative provisions for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) that will impact practices starting in 2019. This presentation will review these changes in the context of the MIPS and discuss strategic options for MIPS performance in 2019.

The presenter will provide attendees with a detailed review of each MIPS performance category from the context of how to optimize performance in 2019 and include the impact of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018. He will share strategic considerations for MIPS performance in 2019 based on knowledge and experience gained during the first two years of the program.

Attendees will gain a detailed understanding of the need for strategic planning for the MIPS and areas to target for optimal performance.
