International Conference on Diabetes and Degenerative Diseases 2017

Diabetes is one of the major public health concerns that occurs either due to lack of insulin production in the islets cells of the pancreas or due to ineffective use of insulin in the body. According to a WHO, as of 2016, an estimated 422 million people had diabetes worldwide, with type 2 DM making up about 90% of the cases. A degenerative disease is a type of a medical condition that causes a tissue or organ to deteriorate over time. There are quite a number of degenerative diseases and many of them are associated with aging or get worse during the aging process.
