CMS’ New Requirements of Participation came into effect Nov. of 2016 with a third of the requirements due to be in place called Phase 1. Phase 2 of the new CMS requirements were to be in place by Nov. 28, 2017, therefore 2018 represents the year of a new survey process looking at new Phase 2 requirements. Phase 3 will come due Nov. 2019.
