Code Effects

Code Effects was/is the fastest rules engine we've used in our code. Its web-based UI is their biggest selling point because of the ease of setting it up and use for non-programmers. But I think that the speed of their engine is their biggest strength. The engine compiles XML rules into native .NET objects right before evaluation.

They don't update their code-base as often as we would like. Their email-based customer service is responsive enough, I guess, but I would prefer to have a dedicated support phone number. They do offer phone support and even WebEx one-on-one sessions but I'd prefer to be able to call them directly instead of asking for them to call me every time I have a question about their product.

Highly recommended business rules engine. This tool allowed us to let the end business users to create, manage and submit their rules without involvement of out IT guys. The pricing levels of their licenses is at least twice lower than their closest competitors, although the licencing schema can be confusing at first.
