Cision

Cision for me goes both ways – at times it is the most loveable tool to use and at times I am not that fond of it. However, to speak for its’ upsides, it is very easy to use and navigate around, especially as there are numerous tutorials available for it. The data is also completely trustworthy which can’t be said for many of its’ peers. Overall, I love Cision’s capability to thoroughly investigate and report the found data as it gives great insights and knowledge on how to act.

As far as it comes to me, there are some things troubling me with Cision. First and foremost: it is SO expensive! For a small agency, it is really too much to fit in our budget, not to even mention there are many more affordable tools out there with similar tool set. Also, the interface itself looks and feels somewhat outdated, while list building is not the most friendly. The other thing I encountered was some lists for press release distribution bouncing back. I still have no reason why but it can be troublesome.

Cision has great reputation as being top-notch for the reporting features and trustworthy data. As there are some issues to it, I can’t say it is the finest out there. If your budget can afford using Cision, then I’d say go ahead because despite some lacks, they likely won’t hurt your user experience that much while the analytics it brings on the table are still very great.
