I’m all for competition in any arena. In the end, consumers get a better product and cheaper prices. That’s why I like Catia. It rivals Adobe’s AutoCAD in functions, capability and good speed. Catia’s offering in the CAD space is loosening the stranglehold that AutoCAD has had on modeling and 3D rendering engineers for the last couple decades.

I’m the kind of person who would like to see product pricing on the company’s website. Unfortunately, when I searched their website on how to buy the product, all three alternatives involved contacting a Dassault Systemes expert or sales representative to “Get a Quote.” Seriously? What’s so difficult about posting current product prices on your website? In my experience, this tactic usually means that the product needs a hard sell or is overpriced.

Catia is a great alternative to other legacy CAD programs. If you are not an Adobe fan, Catia is for you. The functions and capabilities are what you expect from a high-end Modeling and Rendering program. And Catia’s support is both agile and responsive; just what customers need. I recommend it.
