CatBase

The first thing that pops into mind with CatBase is the greatly adapting software to suit our growing needs. Though it is somewhat difficult at first to comprehend, I must say the customer support is truly knowledgeable and helpful with any troubles you might have – even if there are some minor bugs (which easily sometimes occur as with any software), these issues are taken care of in a timely manner. One other great advantage to CatBase is their Publishing Style Sheets that are extremely detailed and allow you extensive flexibility.

The main con in my perspective is the extensive learning curve – from the set-up to really learning to understand the system. It is so feature packed that for an entry-level user it can get your head aching, not to even mention you’d simply not be able to understand the platform’s capabilities as you’ll be dedicating more time to getting a hang of the system, instead of actually doing something. However, it would be great to have an experienced hand beside you at starters. Also, one other thing - the scripts can't be rewritten which tweaks it down a bit.

Considering the reasonable pricing and out-of-this-world customer support, the extensive learning curve shouldn’t freak anyone out though at first a bit frightening. Fortunately, there are also very useful online tutorials and like mentioned before, you can always get help from the support team. Adding the wonderful feature set, it is fully compatible for especially simple workflows.
