Castor EDC

I have created several databases for different studies with Castor EDC. There are many possibilities to customize the case report forms, so I could create really detailed CRF's for each study. I have even added several calculations to create new variables from existing ones, eliminating the need to do so in a statistical software program. This makes it easier to start analyzing as soon as all the data are in. It is also possible to hide parts of the CRF for certain users, so researchers/nurses/physiotherapists etc only have to worry about their part of the form. Furthermore, with the Good Clinical Practice function it becomes mandatory to document why you made changes to the data, minimalizing the chance of tempering with the data. Best of all, the customer service is incredible. They are very quick to reply, and can help with the most complex calculations.

For the calculation fields, experience with programming in Javascript is useful. The learning curve for these fields is quite steep, but again, customer service is always there to help in a friendly and timely manner!

Castor EDC is a great tool in developing very thorough databases, with excellent customer service.
