Brandwatch

Brandwatch is very easy to setup and collect useful insights from what is being discussed online. This means gathering data is really quick and analysing it is simple My favorite feature was the ability to track a specific term, and then if the mentions went up by a certain percent I would get an email alert. That way if there was breaking news (or bad news), I could see how fast it was spreading. I also loved that if there were brand mentions from verified accounts I would get an email, this saved me a few times when celebs mentions the grand.

It was hard sometime to combine data in a meaningful way to get the report we wanted. Also, the sentiment tracking isn't really good. Pulling the information into a customised report can sometimes take a while as there was no specific reporting functionality. However, I believe Brandwatch has just released this functionality but I'm yet to try it out. Compared to the competitors I've tried It's hard to dislike anything in Brandwatch. But if I could write a wish-list of improvements to be made it would focus on; more sources to be covered (however Brandwatch will add any source you send them), more accurate sentiment analysis and improved spam filters - however these are general things that all vendors across the industry need to improve and not just Brandwatch.

In my humble opinion it's the most versatile social media monitoring and analytics platform on the market. I consider myself as a super user of the Brandwatch platform and think that I've pushed it to its limits many times, and rarely do I come across a use case where the system cannot display the data charts I'm looking for. Whilst Brandwatch comes with plenty of preset dashboards for use cases such as Influencers, Trend analysis, Brand reporting etc, which are great when starting out with the platform, it is still powerful enough to let you switch to a fully manual mode and let you customise every single part of you project.
