Blackboard

Blackboard is a Learning Management System (LMS) that builds a community of learning and provides the means to keep connected. Blackboard reminds me of a Learning Management System that incorporates “social application level” connectivity to its community members. This community may be a school, business, or any other organization; and can be local or global in scope. There is no limit on the number of emails and SMS messages that you can send to others within your community. Desktop and mobile device versions are available.

There is no Free-Trial version of Blackboard. Since it is cloud-based, a sturdy internet connection is a must. The software doesn’t provide options for personalizing your configurations and shortcuts. When compared to other LMS, Blackboard’s ease of use ranks low; a bit too inconvenient for people who just want to get the software and “hit the ground running”.

Blackboard is great for instructors, but may require students to be patient enough to learn its ins and outs before use. It is a good platform to mingle with other students and excellent for anyone in college or university. I recommend it highly and encourage any looking for a learning system to join and have fun.
