Visual filtering is probably the best part of the Birst. The software comes with all the database driver, which eliminates the expenses of buying third party drivers. The software can be used for creating a data warehouse to store a huge amount of data, while its reporting capability can process the data with ease to produce the most comprehensive reports. The software’s ability to handle DWH/ETL part is better than any other BI tool available in the market.

Although the software comes with the most advanced features in BI, it lacks certain basic features like cache clearing! The documentation is also very less as for the appliance version. Exporting data to the Excel is also not possible in Birst, which sometimes, troubles the user while importing reports. Mobile device performance needs to be improved.

The availability of the software in two variants- Cloud-based and Appliance-based makes it a pretty handy business intelligence tool for small-scale as well as mid-scale organizations. The software comes with an interactive dashboard, which enhances the user experience to the great level. The learning curve is certainly there, but considering the features that Birst provide, it is quite acceptable.
