What was the best part about using Bing Ads?

Bing Ads are a simple to use pay per click advertising platform allowing you to drive targeted traffic to your offers. I`ve used it on occasion over the years. I`ve usually found a good return but the amount of traffic is substantially less than Google Adwords or even Facebook nowadays. I find the cost per click to be quite competitive if not slightly lower than most other platforms. But others may find the opposite because so much depends on your niche and the competition. I find the user interface very easy to use. In fact, easier than both Adwords and Facebook but not by much. It`s just a cleaner dashboard overall with the ability to focus on the task at hand and not get caught up in any sort of customization or details that aren`t pertinent to the main ad. Though you can drill down into your targeting options which are fairly robust in terms of geography. I like that you now have the ability to import Google Adwords campaigns. That`s a huge time saver in my case and wish this was possible many years ago. I`ve had a reasonable experience with their customer service. I recall it being a little on the slower side as in one to two days between responses but I never had any doubt that my concerns weren`t being handled sincerely and my issues were resolved both times.

What would you change about your experience with Bing Ads?

The reporting features aren`t as advanced as Google Adwords. While the targeting features don`t stack up against Facebook for their data including purchase history, education, income level, interests and so much more besides geographic location. I`ve read that traffic volume is super low outside the U.S. so it`s not even worth setting up campaigns internationally but I`ve yet to try this as my target using Bing ads for online products has always been U.S based. I`ve also read that it`s best to exclude all countries except the United States when you are selecting your targeting, as their are reports which claim to have received non-U.S. based traffic when selecting only exclusively as a targeting option. I find the reporting features to be somewhat limited compared to their competition. It`s not the most intuitive component to use, to be honest while there are data points missing that you may find useful like conversion percentage, perhaps. And I wish importing campaigns from Facebook was possible that would be awesome. I have yet to see targeting that is more advanced than what Facebook is currently offering so to do this on Facebook and recreate this campaign in Google Adwords and Bing Ads would be a dream come true for this entrepreneur anyways.

Overall Feedback

I found Bing to be the best platform to get started with PPC traffic. It`s lower traffic volumes typically mean the auctions aren`t as competitive for keywords in my experience compared to Google Adwords especially. So it`s a good platform to begin doing it yourself because there aren`t too many options which distract or overwhelm you and everything else with the exception of the reporting are well straightforward and easy to use. The lower rates in my experience have allowed clients to test PPC for the first time and get results even if limited by the overall amount of possible traffic, before moving on to similar platforms with more configuration and competition bidding on the traffic.
