ARP Networks

I have had a VPS with ARP networks since 2010. What brought me to them in the first place was their treatment of OpenBSD as a first class citizen with respect to VM deployment support. Since then they have consistently provided high quality service at a consistent and fair price. Their ipv4 and ipv6 support and peering arrangements make the service very attractive.

Unlike some of the 'up and coming' providers the self provisioning and 'to the second' kind of spot pricing doesn't exist. You either want a VM for an extended period or not. While their prices are very fair on most of the offering, the disk pricing is steep and 'slow' when compared to the competition as $1/GB for traditional hard drive space vs the SSD only competition is a bit steep, they make up for it though by not requiring specific tiering and you can add whatever you need at whatever time (which is not easily offered elsewhere). Support can be slow at times, and when something is broken there can be a long delay between initial contact and resolution. That can be due to staffing but they make up for it with flexibility and expert knowledge so I can't fault them too much there as a 'small business.'

I heavily recommend this company for all VPS solutions that are required to be fixed infrastructure or if you prefer the less than mass-market OS instances. Every problem I've had (of which most of have been my fault) was expertly resolved though getting a real-time conversation with support can be a bit tricky at times (the main point of contact is their ticketing system and sometimes you can get a bit more traction through IRC channel). This criticism is 90% me being impatient more than anything else. These folks know what they are doing and bend over backwards to suit your needs.
