Apple Mail

Apple Mail is part of their iCloud suite of software tools and it's been useful a few times in the past especially when communicating with other iPhone users. It has all of the basic email functionality you need to stay in touch with other not using iPhone of course, too. There is quite a lot more functionality in your Apple Mail account than at first glance. Once again in truly Apple fashion the icon based menus and light based color schemes keep the design truly minimalist with a lot of helpful features on the inside. The overall functionality in your iCloud account is good and I appreciate Apple Mail as part of this value. You can utilize the storage that comes with your account for backup of important documents, photos and videos which is great. You can never have too much backup. You can also access TV, music, books, movies and tons of cool apps while you're using the mail feature so that's awesome. And you can utilize the Keynote software to create and give presentations with Mail there to send them back and forth between devices and applications all from a central dashboard. While I'm emailing sometimes I like using Safari for the tab management especially how it saves your open sessions and syncs them to all of your devices. You can update your general preferences and map up to three additional addresses to use from your account. I like you can use MailDrop to send large files which will remain in the account for up to thirty days I believe. You can utilize the vacation tab to send automatic messages if you're away. And the Rules tab is useful to set up filters for incoming email to be routed to specific folders which you can create for your account easily as well.

The email features are very useful but limited compared to other free email services such as Gmail. The storage is less, and there are fewer customization options. I found the ability to update your signature by clicking the icon in the bottom left corner of the screen in my laptop browser which opened up several other settings. This icon seems hidden and is not obviously with at first glance, or second. It was my third time seriously delving into my account to learn it once and for until I noticed this. I believe it should be more prevalent and accessible. The search functionality is very basic and wouldn't hold up well when you have thousands of email messages in your inbox. I've also login issues in the past even though I was double or triple checking my credentials. I recall it making me feel crazy momentarily and the confusion had me hold off using it for a few years until my friend messaged me in the account. The next time I logged in to iCloud everything was fine again so it could have been me somehow I suppose I'll never know.

I wish Apple was known for a webpage that went viral because of all of their shortcuts and all of the best tips and tricks to use their software was found on it. Because as cool and modern as the style of their tools are the minimalist approach can seem to hide what's possible in its icon based menus. When you find the icon it opens up to offer much more functionality than what you think is possible at first glance. Now I know it's a basic but highly functional email service which I can use to send large files and I appreciate that value.
