Apple iCloud

Apple iCloud is the home for several popular apps online which syncs your Apple account to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and online account. I've been an iCloud user for about six years now and there's a lot of functionality available with these tools. The calendar saves you a lot of time and syncs events between multiple email addresses even my Outlook email account syncs up with it. I keep an extensive contact list and have used a lot of this feature to keep clients and connections organized. Of course I've used the storage for a lot of photos too. The ability to take HD photos on your iPhone nowadays is great and it's super easy to store then in your iCloud which is so easy to access anytime from any device which has an internet connection. The iCloud Drive is useful online file storage. It allows you to store various media types and keep them updated. The Keynote software included in iCloud is powerful for creating presentations. I especially like the ability to share presentations easily between Keynote users. Users can edit Keynote presentations in real time across remote locations and updates are done in real time which is great for efficient team collaboration.

Some of the apps require IOS 8 and up so anyone using an iPhone 4S or lower will be unable to utilize the full value of their iCloud account. The amount of storage in your iCloud Drive is 5GB which holds quite a lot but it would be nice to see Apple match Google and up the free storage to 15GB. The Find My iPhone is great but it only works if you're phone is online. It's too bad there's not the GPS tracker located right inside the phone itself wasn't able to find my phone for this reason. You're kind of forced to upgrade your phone to utilize the full feature set available for iPhone and Apple iCloud. Which completely makes sense I suppose as the technology changes so fast there are things that are literally not possible in an older iPhone. But while that's smart business too and I respect that it's like giving up a perfectly useable phone and having to upgrade paid plans with my cel phone company as well which will be twice the price. I suppose I'm excited to have virtual reality capabilities on my next phone and to use all of the features in Apple iCloud, and utilize more apps that require iOS 8 and up, but there is a substantial cost in the phone purchase and the fact my monthly phone plan will be twice the price too.

Overall, I think I've been on the fence about my next phone choice for quite some time. This review of Apple iCloud has helped me to see what is fully possible when I upgrade. But I'm not certain if it's enough to try a Galaxy phone as it's natively integrated to VR headsets. But there are so many choices for VR and Zeiss integrates with iPhone. The iCloud functionality is useful of course but the Google tools in an Android device would be using what I actually use every day for business. I've used all of the functionality of iCloud that I can and it's helpful there's no doubt. I suppose I fear losing the stability of my iPhone if I switch to Android most because my iPhone has been rock solid for nearly six years and that's a long time in the tech world. With a few stories I've heard first hand about Android device battery and stability issues it's making this a tough choice and I remain undecided. But I'll vouch the core functionality of Apple iCloud to be solid and honestly recommend it.
