What was the best part about using Hoopla?
Hoopla is unique in the business market in that it specializes as an internal gamification software which allows sales competitions and leaderboards to be easily created and shared around the office. It enables users to combine video, game theory and reporting analytics to facilitate sales in a fun environment using healthy competition to motivate sales reps. You can integrate your CRM as well which can be linked to various sales goals such as revenue, demo signups, phone calls, opportunities created or deals closed. The admin of the account can create team games, head to head and solo competitions as well very easily. There is a good deal of customization options available when creating contests. The motivation intelligence component automates tracking, while delivering motivation to the competitors with cool timing. The leaderboards can easily be displayed on any television, computer screen or mobile device and are animated with custom options available as well.
You can customize contests to be themed or branded to your company. You can check scores anytime from an interconnected device with updates occurring in real time. The user interface is super simple to understand and use. Software doesn't get much simpler to use than this. In the past, we've held sales competitions manually and it worked very well to create a sense of focus, fun and brings greater purpose to your individual sales role if you're competing as part of a team. I love the walk-off song feature that's an awesome fun idea. I've not contacted customer support yet with no reason to do so, but I've read multiple times that is outstanding and this is definitely a factor to consider when considering the best software even if it costs a little more.
What would you change about your experience with Hoopla?
I've read that Hoopla crashes once in a while but that could be based on user technical experience or hardware failure too. Even though the user interface is intuitive the leader boards themselves would take a bit of time to prepare especially if the competition is changing daily. I've also read that the UI isn't the best, and leaderboard and metrics are heavy compared to the competition in the market. I'm not certain which competition they were referring to but now I'll continue my search just to ensure I'm covering my bases before committing. The pricing seems a bit expensive to me with paid plans ranging from $8-12.50 per user, per month billed annually. I understand a great ROI is possible by using software such as this, but I've just begun my research and my gut tells me it should be available at a slightly more reasonable cost.
Overall Feedback
I know first hand that healthy competition in a sales environment can be incredibly powerful in that it engages and motivates staff to focus on creating opportunities to continually improve in order to win but also to be an important part of a team. It's a great way to facilitate a positive, rewarding culture. And a great training tool in that it gives sales reps the motivation and social feedback to become more successful. If Hoopla proved to be a stable system with outstanding support available I believe it's worth checking out to see if it's the best fit for your sales competitions.
