Wrike

Wrike is a comprehensive software suite focused on task management, project management and social collaboration inside a centralized account dashboard. My first impression of the user interface was excellent. It's very clean and straight forward. It took very little exploring to understand the basic aspects of all the functionality involved. I really liked the tutorial wizard which gave me a quick but thorough understanding of Wrike the moment I first logged in. You can keep deadlines, set tasks and sub-tasks along with assign tasks and roles with attached files. Sharing features are good you can do so with team members while commenting on tasks ongoing. To help create efficient workflows you can save and automate sets of tasks to be completed instantly like macros which can save a massive save time. You can also switch emails into tasks or update notes right from your inbox. You can utilize visual reporting such as charts and graphs and in a big picture or granular form which is useful for measuring performance and ROI, as well as completed tasks, active tasks and overdue tasks according to each user. The internal communication possible using the collaboration tools are good while you can view activity streams or newsfeed updates for ongoing team updates. You can also pull people into the live feed and view all data in real time. Users can be grouped into a particular project assigned tasks and share a common calendar which can be color coded and synced through Google Calendars, iCalendar or Outlook. The are a number of useful integrations that work with Wrike too such as Gmail, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and Microsoft Excel. It's easy to keep a lot of details organized in order to facilitate maximize team productivity. They have dedicated smartphone apps available so you can access or utilize your account across any mobile device including tablets, smartphones or computers which made this a truly global work management software. I like the use of drag and drop technology, its always makes things super easy to get done.

There's not much to dislike about Wrike. One person mentioned it would be useful to create dependencies between multiple projects because completing a milestone will trigger the start of another project so that would be good to see. It would be nice if when changing task deadlines it would automatically change in the subtask also. When you move items back or forward using the Gantt chart you have to go into each subtask to switch the deadlines manually and that's not efficient. To be able to plan by duration or by date is a good idea. Currently you can only do so by duration and that may not be the most optimal planning criteria depending on your situation.

Wrike is very simple and easy to use and provides a lot of value inside your account. It not only makes project management, task management and social collaboration organized and efficient but it's free for teams under five. This would be incredibly useful for remote teams working on a focused project. Paid plans are very reasonable and they differ only in the users per account by what I saw. What is incredible is it doesn't disable functionality for their free plan so they are providing a ton of value to customers. Combined with the ease of use and the ability to use your iPhone or a computer at the hotel while traveling to get work done makes this a very powerful software. Highly recommended.
