Web Ex by Cisco is an online collaboration and meeting tool feature easy video, whiteboarding and note taking by both meeting admin and participant. You can record your meeting too and share them online. Web Ex is accessible anywhere you have an internet connection so it's very mobile responsive and adaptable to any device. I like the face time and meeting people in person best so this is enables me to do so when it's not practical or possible to do physically in person. Cisco is an older company that was around for many years before the internet existed so it's a trusted brand in that sense. And due to the fact that it adapted it's telecom business to include online video and teleconferencing since the beginning of the internet age speaks volume as to why they have mid-size to enterprise businesses for clients using Web Ex. Because they were among the first to target this industry and became an authority. Web Ex would excel for internal team communication. For scheduling one time or recurring meetings and having impromptu meetings anytime as well. The content shared during your meetings is secured which is always good to know. The real time sharing capabilities are excellent. You can switch presenters or speakers very quickly which is also a solid feature. And share screens too. The user interface and account dashboard are very well setup overall and easy to use. I setup my first meeting within a couple of minutes of entering my account. Web Ex has a dedicated mobile app which is also good news.

It's a relatively simple video conferencing platform with limited features when comparing it to many other software suites which include video conferencing with other integral components that facilitate a lifecycle based sales pipeline with a relatively similar price. Web Ex only integrates with Outlook email accounts. Consider Google for example who provide similar video conferencing for up to ten people plus all of the functionality of Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Gmail for free. It would be a no brainer to a lot of large companies who currently pay for Cisco if they truly wanted to streamline costs in this area they could do so but the company wide adoption may not be worth the time investment even it is free, or even Google Apps for Business at a fraction of the cost. So they stick with Web Ex because it is reliable and does the one job it's meant for very well. I`ve read Web Ex works best with Microsoft Explorer and is optimized for this internet browser. That`s fine but not clearly mentioned in the account and I`d have to download IE to test this and find it a bit of hassle.

If you're an Outlook email user who only needs to host meetings for fewer than one hundred people and record this content than Web Ex may be for you. If you go beyond the limited number of attendees in your subscription plan I've heard it can get very expensive though I would recommend because of it's reliability. But there are several other video conferencing software on the market to consider as well based on the needs of your team. If you need video conferencing integrated into a full blown CRM integrated or phone calling, or other email services besides Outlook, or social media channels, or landing pages for your web meeting, or task management tools for your project than consider other offers.
