Volusion eCommerce

Volusion is an ecommerce vendor software as a service which allows you to setup a website and online store very easily and begin selling relatively quickly compared to other ecommerce solutions which take a lot more configuration such as Magento, OpenCart or even PrestaShop. You are able to utilize Volusion's hosting and infrastructure so you can simply point your domain to your store through your Volusion account and see it live once the DNS has propagated accordingly which is usually quick nowadays. I am impressed with a few things about Volusion which I was unaware of until recently while doing this research into the best ecommerce vendor for the most sustainable growth for our start up. We are currently using a combination of open source technologies which have been customized though not too heavily. Though later this year there will be a surge of traffic and I want to either upgrade our hosting to something faster and more dedicated, or completely recreate our store using a software as as service such as Shopify or Volusion simply to have the technical maintenance minimized so we can focus on sales and not ensuring the site is operating sufficiently with no downtime which I've experienced enough of in the past. So Volusion looks like a refreshing option with it's inclusive pricing which is not the norm with other platforms with the exception of Square, so far in my research anyways so that's definitely appealing for our particular business model. I like that recurring billing is not an issue with Volusion. Surprisingly enough it is in another ecommerce vendor which is more popular than Volusion I believe. The ability to have a full customer relationship management solution integrated with their two upgraded plans is awesome.

Your account is somewhat limited in terms of customization as everything seems to be quite rigid in terms of flexibility, though I understand it is possible to develop your account at a significant cost to do so. I am just surveying the field at the moment to be honest and hope to offer value through this review, and just thought to mention a quick heads up regarding the correlation of negative reviews regarding Volusion being from customers who have grown with Volusion and experience issues ongoing. I was feeling great about the platform until this pattern emerged when I did a second round of review based research. I find the pricing to be quite fair across all of their plans relative to your lifetime customer value. Though Shopify does have the option to use their processing which removes the two percent fee so that's something to consider from this less expensive ecommerce solution on top of their lesser monthly charge initially. I don't see split testing available in your features at the moment.

I certainly found this solution to be much easier than OpenCart, Magento, Prestashop to setup although there is not nearly the customization possible right out of the box. If you're not tech savvy at all then Shopify or Volusion are two of the easiest possible ways to get a store up and running quickly. It's actually even much easier then a self hosted Wordpress and Woocommerce or WP Ecommerce setup as well and that's from direct experience. Considering Volusion and Shopify host your store and have reliable infrastructure this is perhaps the strongest reason to utilize them. The stress free, hassle free fact you don't have to worry about this critical aspect is reason enough for larger stores to consider this solution, as well. Though I would spend good time to review their support directly several times before investing simply to allow this to determine whether Shopify or Volusion should get our business. They both certainly have solid ecommerce offers and perhaps there is another I'll learn of which cinches the decision but for now, I would suggest allowing their support to help you decide if it's the best suited ecommerce platform for the long term.
