Targetprocess

TargetProcess is a highly visual application development project manager suitable for helping you build software and apps. I've been researching quite a few project managers recently including Trello, BaseCamp 3, GitHub, Jira and others. This is the first to utilize a story board like system which makes so much more user friendly and enjoyable to use. Which is saying a lot based on the nature of the software. It's rewarding but not necessarily enjoyable to use a lot of application development software. This one is like a screenplay editor for software and I like that a lot. You can define your project in a number of custom ways, and use permanent or temporary dashboards while utilizing a few different methods to analyze your data. I'm a new user but by a lot of user accounts one of the reasons this company is so popular is because they listen to their customers and make the user experience their priority. Along with continual updates, bug fixes and new features added which is great. I like that you can allow each person on your team to have the views that are most relevant and useful to them. With different views possible within each type as well. You are able to document entire projects using the structuring and documenting features with the exception being prototypes (clickable) or wireframes. The drag and drop technology in this application is awesome and makes it super easy to switch grids and change properties. The query language is robust. There's a solid free forever plan which allows you to sign up and start using it immediately which is outstanding. I was able to sign up and begin using TargetProcess within a couple minutes. And found the whole process seamless with the user interface to be user friendly and relatively intuitive considering the amount of power and control under the hood. You may find the interactive tutorial wizard helpful as well. I like these for any software to help me get my head around the account as a whole. So I can begin to deduce from this basic understanding my best, most efficient workflow. TargetProcess makes this very simple to do without sacrificing functionality which allows you to develop massively complex projects. There's also a decent user guide available from the company inside your dashboard which links to some important topics.

I learned that load times can be a bit slow but I've not noticed this myself at all. There is definitely a lot of setup required to create the most efficient workflows during your build but it's worth it for the flexibility. The plugins and mashups possible together with the core functionality in your account simply mean it will take a bit of time to work out your most optimal systems and flow. You can customize and edit the epic, userstory, request, bug and feature types but not the role, user, project or release cards. Some stuff can be changed and some cannot and it's not always obvious as to which and the card types cannot be renamed, or deleted if they're unused.

This application development software is able to handle a lot core initiatives with agile iteration easily within it's very visual dashboard. The reporting is quite good there are several options to help you get a better idea. This tool is an effective time saver by allowing you to plan and manage your projects in complex detail using the most visual format possible. The layout of your build is so clearly laid out it's no wonder why this software gets such great reviews online. It makes what is typically very complex into something that is not only manageable but enjoyable to use.
