TalkWalker is a social media monitoring tool which allows you to track your brand and its mentions online. TalkWalker has a comprehensive set of key metrics by which is measures engagement of your customers and brand using several criteria including sentiments, engagement, potential reach and buzz all together in one central dashboard. It also utilizes these metrics for several social media networks including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram at least so that's why some would choose this platform over others. The ability to plot the most data sources with a high level of customization across several metric types such as device, demographic, geo-location data, channels, sources, themes, custom filters and more is excellent. There are some cool search queries to help analyze your data and break it down into more into meaningful ways. The filters are very good too you can create custom filters using these search queries using the main content monitoring and not have to create new another instance and measure against these filters to help drill into this data further. The smart themes is another cool feature which provides more of an overall measure of your performance metrics. You can check out the analytics for different devices as well like for mobile or tablet use versus laptop and computer usage. The analytics and reporting capabilities are good as well with everything you need to analyze all of your data to help you recognize trends and patterns that can enable greater productivity or efficiency or help increase revenue and your overall bottom line. I'm still new but understand their customer support is consistently good and that they are always updating their platform and adding new features. This is a highly analytics focused SAAS with no social media publishing or posting capabilities. And it does what it does incredibly well. The user interface and dashboard seem quite basic when you first enter the account but layering of their Smart Themes feature is how you begin to see the depth possible by platform. The ability to monitor various types of online mentions is very good with hashtag tracking, crisis alerts, competition intelligence, campaign monitoring, content analytics and brand listening. The depth of the query feature making it easy to have a hands on approach to your analytics is both easy to use and comprehensive. They have a partnership with Hootsuite if you need to have a publishing component in your social media campaigns. And there is an API available so you can basically integrate any third party data you want which is very cool.

The price is more of a mid-size to enterprise class suited perhaps by starting at $700 per month. Mention.com starts at $29 but don't quite have this level of key metrics possible across the same range of social channels natively integrated into their SAAS.

There is a free alerts subscription available from TalkWalker which I am using in addition to Google Alerts and Mention currently. Together they are able to keep us informed of our brand online so we can engage folks and thank them for their support. Or help prevent negative reviews which I hope there are not, though to be able to respond very quickly is key. TalkWalker would be awesome once we begin to scale up as our brand will be available in a major department store across Canada with plans for possible U.S expansion in the next couple of years so with that growth and diversity in our geographic and demographics it would be valuable to gain this much insight into our user base but with the current pricing plan it will have to wait for a time. I definitely recommend checking out their free trial and reading some reviews to learn how people are applying the intelligence available in social media which can be utilized to grow your bottom line.
