Social Tables

Social Tables is a software as a service for event planners and coordinators which allow you to accurately design your events in advance and export the results in order to present them to your client, or manager in charge of the event. They don't have the pricing directly available on the site though I've read they have plans ranging from forty nine dollars USD per month through one hundred and fifty dollars per month USD. Though in the interest of transparency I am reviewing this software having had experience helping coordinate hundreds of banquets, meetings, conferences and weddings though not am not currently in the field. Though I'm researching other CAD software and planning a personal event for next year and am planning a big family event and wanted to learn how software could help out nowadays. And I must say it is a very easy software to use. The user interface is intuitive to learn and start using immediately. Compared to specialized computer assisted software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhinoceros and many others it is vastly simpler which is great. You don't have to have any previous architectural or engineering skills to use Social Tables. It uses a simple drag and drop technology used to move physical objects into place in your room, once you've setup the specs of the room. The width, height and width as well as the colors and so on. The 3D preview and walk through capabilities are good to have and quite new I understand. This is definitely a feature which is very simple to use yet adds a lot of value to your planning. They have native iOS and Android apps as well so you're good to go from any device as long as you have an internet connection.

My only complaint is that there is nothing representing a ficus plant to use as an image and I don't know how I am going to make my clients happy without a cool ficus plant symbol to use natively integrated into the system. Just kidding! You can upload your own custom images, or draw them in the editor as well so it's a non-issue. My only actual issue is that I wish their pricing was inclusive of all features. In that it is exclusive pricing with various tiers of exclusive features at different prices I will continue my research because there is usually something similar from a company who is utilizing inclusive pricing and therefore placing the user experience as their first priority, thereby empowering their customers to be as successful as possible. Which turns into brand loyalty and lifetime customers. It appears with a fairly quick glance that Social Tables is most definitely the leading authority especially in the hospitality and food and beverage industries, which means to me there may be an opportunity for a smart start up.

There's quite a lot of helpful resources available which I can appreciate. Even though the software is very simple to use I appreciate the help just to get your head around the components and capabilities. I've read a few times it can become slow or cumbersome to work with large functions which won't be an issue for our personal event coming up, but certainly would have been an issue for dozens of events we planned in the past. The ability to scale your space to the exact dimensions is a huge time saver which allows you to eliminate a lot of stress in regards to minimizing the unknown elements. I like how you can export in different ways as well as print from a PDF or other file types. The significant amount of time saved by using Social Tables is definitely worth the investment. Even $149 per month is a drop in the hat compared to the return on investment possible if you're hosting at least one event per month. For example, if you're saving ten hours per diagram and hosting six functions over a month you begin to get the idea. Sixty hours saved at your current rate per hour is a no brainer.
