The product being an easy to use NoSQL database engine is highly preferred by both professionals and beginners. The support offered to the users as the product provides secondary indexes compared to other NoSQL products that don’t provide secondary indexes. One can test the product before deciding to use it and they offer both open source and enterprise edition licenses.

It is not an optimal choice for all use cases as Riak is a distributed key-value store. The often update of the product may be quite disturbing at times. The product is also unavailable for use in Windows operating system. Discontinuing support for the various links was also in a way disappointing.

Before one uses Riak, it is important to ensure that it fits one’s use case. It is a great key value store though the lack of ability for one to search is in a way cumbersome. Connections issues arise in case the data is being updated regularly in small portions since it does not support transactions. It is a solid platform with large capacity for storing key-value data. For the product, a lot of material needed for training has been made readily available. A comparison between this product and other alternatives reveals that Riak is a powerful product that one should invest in.
