QlikView

QlikView is a business intelligence software with a free trial download available for signing up. It's a very robust software with a lot of features and functionality available in your dashboard. The reporting is very visual and does a good job of allowing you to have multiple view tabs in the relatively simplest way. There is a ton of customization functionality available using a button and mouse based user environment where working with databases in web browsers can often have more pathways available and so this software makes it easier to be productive just by utilizing buttons in a few menus so it is far less complex and overwhelming in this sense. You can export to Excel or Access so that's great. There's no doubt your internal processes are greatly sped up by the analysis this software can do. If you're not confident with data this dashboard is a good introduction in the sense that it has all of the professional features and functionality you could ever want in a centralized account. So it's a great place to learn about how to work with data in a hands on way. You can create and deploy multiple dashboards across levels or departments without a lot of training once you have one person able to work with QlikView efficiently. The reports are very intuitive and help you to make new connections and see new patterns which can improve your bottom line. All of this data you can now have easily accessible and integrated globally.

I appreciate the ability to download and try the desktop version for free. And that the cloud community is freely available too. But the pricing of 'tokens' used as their symbol for time allotments similar to having a set of subway tokens is just kind of funny. It all makes sense and provides a way to sort of measure what you may need in terms of usage of their system but it's not completely accurate in that you have allow for headroom of about twenty percent in your purchase. And why are they charging per hour or per token anyways? I believe their is much more value in inclusive subscription models, which show the company truly wants their customers to succeed with their software and not be limited by time or expenses when the word of mouth marketing for this use of a software I believe is worth more than not allowing customers to use the software longer for less "tokens". I can't believe the price per token is so high. There's a large return possible from the data provided by analyzing all of your databases there's no doubt about it but I'm curious what long time users of QlikView would have to say about ChartIO.com which is dramatically less cost per month with vastly more functions and data discovery possibilities. If you basically have all SQL databases to analyze than perhaps it's worth several thousand dollars to get this reporting. Though for that kind of money I would like to have this all done by an expert though perhaps I am mistaken about the cost somehow.

If you have to take any time to learn how to utilize the full potential of this software it can give you tremendous insight into a lot of data. And while it is easy to learn how to use it's functions one at at time, there are a lot of functions required to learn the software as a whole so it has to take some time to learn and that's an investment in your training. Time with the trial version prior to using this software in a pressurized, real time is recommended in order to have the best efficiency and workflow. Having one person be efficient with this software by using the trial software in order to get the full value of your paid upgrade to their enterprise version.
