GoToMeeting

GoToMeeting is a web video conference software that is reasonably priced and I understand the need for stable web conferencing tool options in the market. The free trial is a great way to check it out for yourself with nothing to lose but a little time to learn if it's the best option for your company. I like being able to zoom into documents and write with the pen tool or use a highlighter. It also has a general instant message area where the host and attendees can hold a conversation, along with live talk options. The 'Request Keyboard and Mouse Control' option would be amazing when training attendees as you could show examples directly on the attendees computer screens the required steps of how to complete complex tasks.

I see that the Citrix website has been updated. It's finally easy to understand their products and compare them. For a long time, the website simply wasn't effective at this. I also don't understand how a company known for having severe technical issues gets such a large slice of the market. A good percentage of the meetings or webinars I've attended have had crashing, audio or video recording issues but I haven't heard experienced this as much lately. I don't see how to adjust the audio meeting preview recording that begins meetings as a recipient. Resolving audio feedback or echoing from within a GoToMeeting system configured between multiple devices is not efficient. I'm not certain what can be done to help pinpoint the faulty device as the issue itself would have to do with audio device model and connectivity, but perhaps there is some way to identify this and make it easier to deal with. Pricing could be too much for small businesses. For small teams, it would be advantageous to use Skype or a Google Hangout for free. The screen sharing feature is great to have but it's definitely not the most intuitive to use. It's easy once you get the hang of it, but takes a little practice to be confident before your first meeting. The ability for multiple screen shares would be beneficial; to see another screen and show it on your own screen and comment on it. GoToMeeting will update their software from time to time which is great. But I've read the updates must occur before using the software which would be a huge hassle if it wasn't updated right before an important meeting. The ability to delay the update or schedule it for later would be greatly appreciated in such situations. There could be better follow up tools in GoToMeeting. If meetings could be followed up with a summary, poll or survey to get immediate feedback that would be awesome. In every Citrix based online meeting or webinar, I've attended it's always essential the host asks attendees if they can be seen and heard. Better sharing capabilities would help differentiate their software in the market. As well as more advanced audio features. Anyone using or attending GoToMeeting meetings would perhaps not be expecting to have to download a local client software to their computer, but this must be done to connect with GoToMeeting online.
