What was the best part about using Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is an online web tracking software that is widely used and integrates into many different applications. It has both free and premium paid versions though I've just used the free analytics and find the data reported to be very helpful to observe a holistic view of the traffic to my website or easily break it down to understand on detailed levels.
Google Analytics allows you to utilize collection of data, manage it and consolidate it to learn how customers are engaging your landing pages, squeeze pages and websites from all different types of devices. It's possible to measure all sorts of campaign data including social tools, video, PPC ads and others.
Google Analytics a web analytics service offered by Google. It provides comprehensive reporting and analytics tools for websites of all sizes. Google Analytics enables users to monitor website traffic, understand user-interaction with their site and generate custom reports depending on the needs of their business. And effectively cease or scale up the campaigns which are working best.
I like that you can create custom alerts to know when a set of criteria have been met or triggered. And import data from other sources into it as well such as your content management system like Wordpress or customer relationship management software like Pipedrive. You can view data broken down in detail to learn traffic source, time spent of pages, video views, downloads, click through rates for computer or mobile device, by geographic region and in many other ways.
I love using Google Analytics directly inside my Wordpress dashboard. It provides myself and clients a real, tangible way to monitor performance and measure success from our efforts. There are also cool ecommerce based analytics available for product based traffic. In many ways by utilizing the data available you can greatly improve your customer user experience. But it's great data to help measure keywords and content marketing.
The fact that Google Analytics works in real time and that the data is so visual, comprehensive and easy to understand clearly differentiate it from the competition. And the fact it's freely available is incredible as it is an enterprise level reporting software.
There is a premium version available with no pricing available on their site. The main differences though are going to be more about onboarding for large teams, with a dedicated account representative, premium support and ongoing training. It doesn't mention anything other than these items as to the differences between free and paid version. Once again helping to validate my claim that this is a free enterprise level analytic software that provides tremendous value for any sized business.
What would you change about your experience with Google Analytics?
Third party plugins to integrate Google Analytics into Wordpress don't always play well. I've read that Google Analytics doesn't correctly record user data for interactions based on a one page website. I'm not certain about this though as any squeeze pages I've built and integrated with Google Analytics have been linked to a domain with at least eight pages or more.
Overall Feedback
Overall, how can you not like Google Analytics when it is free and includes all of the features many businesses would happily pay thousands of dollars per month for. I've seen the product grow and become more user friendly over many years. There are a ton of integrations possible for Google Analytics and it's easy to do this yourself with most platforms.
