Drupal

Drupal is an open source content management system that is available one hundred percent freely to download and install in order to build your own website, blog, ecommerce shop, forum or your choice of application as it's a very dynamic, extensible software. I noticed that Drupal is lighter weight than both Wordpress and Joomla and uses less resources which is worth noting that pages load fast. It is a highly customizable system there are thousands of themes available which are pre-made and save you a tremendous amount of time. Creating even one these is enough work to someone busy for a week. The system also has plug-ins available which further extend the capabilities in Drupal Much like Wordpress and Joomla in both of these two regards. I did not realize over two percent of the world's website were powered by Drupal. Or some such statistic something like this that would be a difficult stat to measure accurately with so much change every second of every day to domains, servers, downtime and every other variable there is leaving the only constant being change. I believe there is more power and control right out of the box than Wordpress but it is quite a bit more technical to use. The installation is certainly a different process and not your typical five minute WP install. It says to set aside twenty minutes to install Drupal and that's fair enough if you're proficient or have done it already as an amateur a few times. It's a self hosted application so you always have the most options this way for customization and configuration. You can absolutely change any aspect of Drupal in anyway you can imagine and have coded. And if you are proficient with HTML, CSS and PHP you will have no issues adapting Drupal to suit your purposes whether it's for business or personal it's an proven system used by the White House, Warner Bros. and thousands more every day which says a lot about the scalability and reliability overall.

If you are not a coder you should probably stick to Wordpress although I believe you can use Fantastico or Softaculous in Cpanel to install Drupal automagically but it was not my priority so I don't recall at this very moment. Even if you do use an auto installer to do this Drupal requires support and maintenance ongoing and so congratulations you have managed to install it all by yourself, now go hire an expert to do the rest because without coding skills it is pretty tough to make dreams happen quickly on this platform.

I have a hard time not comparing everything about Drupal to Wordpress and Joomla because they are the three most popular content management systems and all open source software freely available which is the best thing when you think about. Here I am comparing three outstanding completely free solutions which help you share, earn, grow and connect with others in a multitude of ways limited only by your imagination. That being said, while there may be the most directly out of the box in Drupal and it is relatively fast loading, there is a steep learning curve in order to use it as quickly as someone with no coding skills can after using Wordpress for about a day, or so. And that's saying something about Wordpress I suppose; regarding it`s legendary popularity stemming from it`s general ease of use. Yet it's robust and very optimizable. There is certainly a learning curve to all of them. I love the look of all three you can create amazing front end digital assets, but now I officially know having built one HTML/CSS website from scratch, four using SiteBuiltIt, over two hundred websites on Wordpress and two on Joomla for clients that I have used Drupal. And it is awesome. It's just not as user friendly as I like. I love to learn and would enjoy taking the learning curve and become proficient to be honest, but as I have mentioned to me it comes down to being as productive and efficient as possible with the task at hand, and Wordpress just makes this easier.
