The short answer is that it depends ... on the client themselves and on the specific project.
With some clients and smaller, less complicated projects it can be a quick telephone call and a few questions/answers.
For larger projects, it would typically be a question/answer document that we ask the clients to complete and then we can discuss further and refine things until everyone is clear on what the project goals are and how to get to the end result. (more)
