What was the best part about dealing with Cassandra Bryan Design?
I think the best part about Cassandra is its replication feature. With the help of this function, if a node should go down, that actually happens seldom, your data is already replicated to another node automatically. The Cassandra ability to store vast amounts of data in the cloud is unmatched.
What would you change about your experience with Cassandra Bryan Design?
I think the overall product is great. The only thing I dislike is that all the aspects around the platform require professional support with some specialized knowledge. This support is sometimes hard to find, besides, it can quickly become very costly. However, that's not a very serious issue, as the Cassandra community is growing quite fast.
Overall Feedback
We are using Cassandra mostly for storing all our essential business data. Here we are talking about huge amounts of data, and what's important the system has never had any performance issue. Every feature in Cassandra, except for the replication, is available in the single-node configuration, that's a huge advantage that helps you see if the data model works the way it should. However, if your amount of data is relatively small, then some other solution may be more suitable for you, as Cassandra is developed especially to store huge amounts of data and it needs, therefore, strict system requirements, like at least about 4 GB of RAM, and can be quite expensive.
