Your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Is Incomplete Without This Application

If you are a Microsoft Dynamics CRM user and you are not using XRM ToolBox, you are certainly missing on something important. Now for those of you who don’t know what XRM ToolBox is, it is an application that helps Microsoft Dynamics users to easily complete configuration and customization tasks.

Overview

Microsoft claims, “Digital Transformation with Dynamics 365.” And, the solution really lives up to this claim. All the enterprises that are using Dynamics 365 have their success stories. The popularity of Dynamics 365 has triggered a new market trend where new applications and support plugins are being developed to make Dynamics 365 more user friendly. A step forward in this direction is the creation of XRM ToolBox.

Installation Guide

You can download XRM ToolBox and unblock the files before unzipping. Rest everything will get configured automatically and you would just be required to click a few times.

Top 10 Reasons to Use XRM ToolBox

There are plenty of reasons for you to start using XRM ToolBox right away. But here, I will focus on only the top 10 reasons that should be sufficient to convince you to start using this application. My list comprises reasons that I look for in an application.

  • It is a free of cost application. This point definitely gives the application an edge over other available tools which are not free to use. You can download it, give it a shot, and if you don’t like it, then uninstall. Just that simple. But, yes! If you benefit from the application and like it, then you can donate generously.
  • It has an extensive list of plugins. The developers provide the application with 30 plugins and just in case these are not sufficient, you would be happy to know that the application is extensible which allows professionals to share their version of plugins. You can easily search, install, and even uninstall plugins from the Plugins Store.
  • It is an established tool and therefore a lot of community help is available. The XRM ToolBox has an open-source community on GitHub from where users can access documentation, report bugs, or even make donations if you are willing to. Besides this, a lot of user blogs provide useful tips and tricks to make the work easy.
  • It is compatible with all versions above the Microsoft Dynamics 2011. There is no limit to using it whether you are an online-edition user or an enterprise-edition user. The tool provides ease for both the users by providing effective attribute and web resource management. The bulk features which I will discuss later are great for enterprise users.
  • It is a user-friendly interface which resembles the Windows interface and therefore it is extremely easy to use. The interface allows customization and tool usage without going deep in the Software which would otherwise be slightly tedious. You can customize the command and status bars with the tools that you frequently use.
  • It gives you a strong authorization over privileges. By using the Privileges Discovery tool, you can assign permissions and control access of individual users. This is extremely critical in preventing unauthorized access which can often lead to information leaks. Enterprise can even limit the rights to read-only; read and edit; or read, edit and delete.
  • It allows bulk updates and tasks without specific user involvement. Now, a single authority can update all versions by using User Settings Utility Bulk Update feature. You can also alter the settings of bulk users on the basis of their teams by using User Roles Manager feature. This feature is extensively used in organizations.
  • It enables you to transfer solutions, templates, and entities effortlessly. The tools like Solution Transfer Tool, Documents Templates Mover, Data Transporter, Solution Components Mover, etc. prove to be effective ways of transferring files. You can use tools like View Transfer Tool to keep a tab on the transfers that are happening within an enterprise.
  • It has great import and export tools to facilitate analysis. You can import and export translations, solutions, charts, NN relationships, etc. with tools like Easy Translator, Solution Import, etc. You can also view import and export history with Solution History tool which again prevents misuse of the import and export rights.
  • It allows you to create, edit, and delete attributes, entities, and operations. To perform these tasks, you can use tools like Attribute Manager, Data Transporter, Power BI Option, etc. The advanced tools like Managed Solution Delete Tool are effective in identifying the use of solution before it is deleted.

With these strong reasons, I am sure you would be wanting to start using the XRM ToolBox. Please don’t forget to share your experience.
