Earth Friendly Fashion Businesses Can Make A Huge Impact

There are plenty of businesses that are doing their part to make the world a greener place. You may not think of fashion as a business, but the clothing industry alone has grown 400% in the United States in the last 20 years. The average American household spends nearly $2000 a year on clothing and accessories. Fashion pollutes more than any other industry in the world other than the oil industry. That’s a huge market share and a great place to make a positive impact on the world.

Currently 95% of plastic is used once and thrown away. There are many opportunities to reuse it. Recycled plastic can be turned into frames for glasses and sunglasses. Even plastic that has been dumped into the sea can be reclaimed and recycled into glasses frames. Reusing or repurposing denim can save 900 gallons of water- that’s how much it takes to make 1 pair of jeans! And using natural fabric dyes can prevent nearly 20% of all water pollution.

Businesses have the power to make a positive change in the environment by reducing pollution and recycling and reusing materials in creative ways. Learn how clothing and accessories can be made more earth-friendly from this infographic!
